Since it is not a secret that our generation is severely more overweight than we were 30 years ago, the food industry had to victimize a culprit that was causing our jean buttons to pop. Dun Dun Dunnnnn.... Fat is the mean burglar that is stealing our health according to the Food industry. Who cares what else is on the labels of the packaged foods, as long as those key words "FAT FREE" is broadcasted along the front. You MUST be in the clear then, whewwww! Thank goodness for the good ol, selfless Food Industry for having your back against the enemy b/c we alll LOVE pointing out enemies!
Then WHAM! the fat and calories just keep rolling on in despite your smart choices of "fat free" foods. Who is the sneaky bad guy you ask?
Sugarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Muahahaha (as he twists his mustache in a devious dark way as he creeps out of the dark creepy corner).
Sugar may not be as blatant as being labeled as "Fat," but this sneaky lil guy promotes fat STORAGE and tricks your brain into thinking it is still hungry and is never satisfied. What is even worse is that the two most popular sugars, Table Sugar (Sucrose) and High Fructose Corn Syrup both contain the harmful substance, Fructose.
High Fructose Corn Syrup is an isolated nutrient that is derived from a complex nutrient, corn which is a no no! This starves you of proper complex nutrients your body needs from the natural source (such as corn) and replaces it with a chemically processed singular nutrient. An example of this is Cocaine. The drug, cocaine is obviously not good for your health, but it is derived and concentrated from the natural source of cocoa leaves which is good for you, Ding Ding! Cocoa herbal tea is an actual medication, yet you wouldn't want to snort a line of cocaine!! High Fructose Corn Syrup is that cocaine people! This tactic is similar to what the Tobacco Industry does with nicotine to trap you into NEEDING their product by becoming physically dependent on it. The Food Industry is a Multi Billion industry and will do about anything to keep you wanting more of their products. Your Brain craves the sugar b/c of the chemically fulfilling feeling, yet your body could care less about this deadly component!
Once your sugar levels are sky high (which are very prevalent in deceptive"Fat free" foods), your pancreas has to secrete insulin in order to bring down your sugar levels so you don't die, which is a fat producing hormone! Oh geeeeeez, thought you could escape that fat eh? NEWS FLASH PEOPLEEE! There is such thing as good fat! You need fat in your diet to help keep you feel fully satiated. Worst kinds of fat are your oils such as corn oil and soy oil found in baked snacks and butter spreads.
THEN WHO ON EARTH ARE THE GOOD FATS?
Your savior in shining armour are your plant based foods such as avocados, chia seeds, nuts, and flax seeds. Oh and even wild salmon has good Omega fats for you as well :) Carbs such as white bread, rice, and pasta turn into sugar so stay away from these foods as well! Sugar is paralleled to morphine and heroin b/c it instantly sends endorphins to your brain and makes you feel high and soothed. Perfect example is milk which were designed to hook kids in. One serving is a whopping 24g of sugar! whoahhh, might as well put an IV of heroin into your kids' arms every morning when you serve them cereal and milk.
